Next Poem: "No One is Here"

Stop covering your pain
Because it only fades you away.
Stop blaming your pain on people
Because it is never the same.

Stop hiding that beautiful smile,
And no, it’s not because your emotions want to hide it for a while.
They may try to hurt you; don’t let them.
They’ll stop shooting because there is nothing to shoot.
You’ll stop crying because there is nothing to cry about.

Your friends now—
Well, turn around because they are talking about you right now.
Even your shadows go away in the dark.
People say they are there for you,
But then they’re gone.

People say they love you,
But they’re straight wrong.
They say they won’t snitch,
But they snitch and think they’re strong.

They say, “I’ll help you when you need it,”
But when I ask for help, they say, “Beat it.”
They say they’re gonna ride, but they’re wasting my time.
I thought they were gonna stick by my side,
But no one is here—
It is all lies.
