Some of these children were faced with several odds, starting as early as during pregnancy or at birth, experienced poverty in early childhood and were raised by troubled families.

The children who had a combination of some of these factors showed behavioral problems during adolescence but about 33% of them grew up to become successful in their personal and professional lives.
